Chelsea has begun talks with Croatian international Ivan Perisic, who is valued at €30 million.
Chelsea intends to make multiple recruits this summer, with eight defenders alone on their want list. With both Rudiger and Christensen departing the club, the German manager is expected to seek to strengthen his midfield and front line, but the back-line is the most important area of attention.
There are also worries about Azpilicueta and Alonso, who are both targets for Barcelona and appear to be eager to join the Catalan club. Both Spaniards might still depart Chelsea, but the Blues would have to find new defenders to replace them.
Eight names have been identified as possible replacements for the departing defenders, and the club hopes to be able to move for their targets as soon as the window opens on June 10th, assuming the club's sale goes through as planned.
Long-term target Jules Kounde, who came close to moving from Sevilla last year but had a deal fall through late in the day, is at the top of their shopping list. This time, the French centre-back is unlikely to elude Chelsea, and he appears to be the first of their defensive replacements.
Josko Gvardiol of RB Leipzig is a less well-known but highly-rated player who plays on the left side of central defense and can also fill in at left-back. The Croatian international is more of a prospect than a proven player, but he is a major target for Chelsea.
